Civil Engineer

Position Summary: LTRA is currently seeking licensed engineers with expertise in state DOT’s, municipal, and county related transportation projects.


  • BSCE from an accredited program is required
  • Four to 15 years of experience in highway/roadway and drainage design
  • Professional Engineering License is required
  • Experience with software applications including MicroStation and Geopak
  • Experience in preparing various components of plans and construction documents (PS&E)
  • Experience with state DOT’s, counties, and municipalities associated with transportation projects is required

Survey Field Technician

Position Summary: LTRA is currently seeking a Survey Field Technician. The position is required to regularly work outside. The preferred candidate will be an excellent communicator, assertive problem-solver, and overall team player. The candidate will be required to lift and/or move up to 50-70 lbs. A positive attitude and flexibility are a must. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task, adapt well to pressure, customer service oriented, and do whatever it takes to get the job done.


  • Provide assistance and perform duties as directed by the Party Chief
  • Adhere to safety procedures at all times
  • Cut and clear brush from trees from line of survey
  • Load/unload equipment and prepare trucks for daily jobs
  • Responsible for job specific quality system tasks, as defined in the quality manual
  • Minimum of a high school/GED diploma is required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and successfully complete a drug screening and background check
  • Candidates must possess a neat appearance at all times and be prepared for various weather conditions
  • Basic mathematics are required, in addition to a general understanding of algebra, trigonometry, and geometry are also a plus
  • Familiarity with survey instruments is a plus
  • Short term out of town travel is possible (hotel and per diem expenses provided)
  • Must live in the United States and be able to work without sponsorship

Senior Survey Technician

Position Summary: LTRA is currently seeking a Senior Survey Technician to support busy field operations in our established and rapidly growing survey department. This is the perfect position for Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) applicants wanting to advance their career path. This position will assist RPLS on projects, research, field note reduction, legal description writing, DTM preparation and drafting and provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience on a variety of transportation related projects.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • SIT/Certified Survey Technician preferred, but not required
  • Must have experience with survey data reduction and base mapping for design surveys
  • Must have boundary survey, plats, and right-of-way document preparation experience (TxDOT experience preferred)
  • Must be CAD proficient (MicroStation/Geopak preferred)
  • Must have experience with Trimble Business Office
  • Must have experience with DOT deliverables

Project Surveyor

Position Summary: LTRA is seeking to hire a Project Surveyor to support efforts within our established and rapidly growing survey department. This position requires experience with TxDOT related right-of-way mapping documents and deliverables, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Valid registration as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in the State of Texas (preferred)
  • TxDOT Precertification in survey categories
  • Ability to work in MicroStation/GEOPAK
  • Familiar with Trimble Business Office

LiDAR Technician

Position Summary: The LiDAR Technician responsibilities include collecting and processing mobile and terrestrial LiDAR scan data, constructing panel layouts, and ground truthing LiDAR data sets. This position provides a valuable opportunity to gain experience on a variety of projects.


  • Processing Survey Field Data
  • Creating CAD drawings from Survey and LiDAR data
  • Working in MicroStation and GeoPak Software
  • Field data collection using Mobile and Terrestrial Scanning methods
  • Collecting survey data with GPS Data collectors
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good verbal and written communication skills is a must
  • Preferred working knowledge in the use of MicroStation, GeoPak, and ArcGIS for producing LiDAR planimetric files

Utility Design Engineer

Position Summary: LTRA is currently seeking a licensed engineer to lead our water/wastewater design practice.


  • BSCE from an accredited program is required
  • 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater and utility design
  • Professional Engineering License is required
  • Experience with state DOT’s, counties, and municipalities associated with transportation projects is required

Construction Inspector

Position Summary: LTRA is currently seeking a full time Roadway/Bridge Construction Inspector to support our rapidly growing Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Department. Experience with TxDOT construction inspection and other applicable training certificates is desirable.


  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Preference is given to candidate with specific qualifications and certifications for Roadway and Bridge Inspection using TxDOT’s construction methods, safety and environmental methods, material testing procedures.
  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Acceptable Driving Record.
  • Ability to pass Criminal History Background Check (CHBC) and drug screening.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal safety and environmental guidelines and regulations.
  • Skill in operating computer equipment, software programs and field inspection equipment.  

Duties: Observations of highway construction installations, including but not limited to materials, grade elevations, underground facilities, construction safety precautions, minor concrete structures, traffic control devices, to determine compliance with contract plans and specifications.

  • Reviews roadway construction plans, specifications, encroachment permits, and other plans affecting assigned projects.
  • Participates in meetings to discuss construction details and resolves issues with contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • May make field measurements.
  • May ensure conformance with applicable safety standards and regulations. Assists in coordinating materials testing. Identifies on-site project problems.
  • Observes reports and alerts appropriate members of project team on non-conformance issues. Monitors the correction of project deficiencies.
  • Identifies and recommends approval of necessary contract and/or plan adjustments to accommodate field conditions.
  • Maintains daily diary and field records of material and quantities used.
  • Calculates and recommends formal approval of appropriate progress payments to contractors for work completed.

Marketing Assistant

Position Summary: The Marketing Assistant for LTRA is responsible for handling the administrative aspects of proposal development, which includes setting up files with relevant materials, maintaining electronic documentation, managing the proposal drafts and graphics, and producing the final proposal hard copies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for interaction with diverse groups. The successful candidate will report to the Marketing/Business Development Director, performing assignments under their direct supervision.The Marketing Assistant’s main areas of responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in preparation of all marketing promotional, presentation, and interview materials.
  • Contributing original written content for business development related work (i.e. bis, project descriptions,  management plans, etc.)
  • Maintaining of information database and website (Ajera CRM)
  • Other marketing related assignments, as directed


  • High school degree and some college required. Bachelor’s degree with a major in English, Communications or Journalism preferred
  • Relevant work experience of 2-5 years preferred
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Appications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with excellent editing, proofreading, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop are a plus
  • Knowledge of Ajera CRM, Deltek Vision or similar CRM system a plus
  • Organization of electronic marketing/business development documents

Position Summary: Lina T. Ramey and Associates, Inc. (LTRA) has an immediate opening for a Marketing Intern to join our team in the Farmers Branch, TX office. We are interested in employing a student intern who is self-motivated and wishes to gain experience working in the Marketing department of a local Engineering, Survey, Subsurface Utility Engineering, and Construction Management firm. The right candidate is one who is eager to learn, has a great attitude and is committed to delivering quality work on a consistent basis. This person will perform assignments under the direct supervision of the Marketing/Business Development Director.


  • Currently a Sophomore to Senior Undergraduate or Graduate student with a minimum GPA of 3.00, majoring in Business or Marketing/Communications
  • MS Office skills are required

  • Graphic Design (specifically in Adobe Illustrator or InDesign) a plus, but not required
