LTRA is leading the final design for this $1 Billion+ new location freeway through one of the fastest growing counties in the US. The new location freeway section of US 380 will serve as alternative route to existing US 380 and improve congestion, increase mobility, and reduce crash rates in the area. The US 380 freeway design includes a 6-lane mainlane typical section with 2-3 lane frontage roads. The project also includes 7 new location grade separated interchanges at W University Dr, Wilmeth Rd, Bloomdale Road West, Ridge Rd, Lake Forest Dr, Taylor Burk Dr, and Bloomdale Road East. Complex HEC-RAS 2D H&H modeling was developed to support the design of the US 380 corridor across the Elm Fork Trinity River. LTRA coordinated with TxDOT and multiple stakeholders to ensure key design issues are addressed in a corridor that is rapidly developing. LTRA is assisting TxDOT to develop a staged implementation construction plan for the US 380 corridor that will fit within TxDOT’s budget. The US 380 project is one of the largest final design projects currently in the TxDOT Dallas District.
