Trinity Railway Express

Tarrant County, Texas
LTRA was the lead firm for preparing construction plans for double tracking the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) line from IH 35W to east of S. Sylvania Ave. LTRA prepared the civil sheets including the demolition plan, track plan and profile sheets, typical sections, drainage area map and calculations, guideway drainage plan and profile sheets, hike and bike revisions, and temporary erosion control. Railroad bridges over a creek, North South Freeway, West Fork of the Trinity River and Sylvania Avenue were designed with the project. The plans included details for rehabilitation of the existing trestle bridge over West Fork Trinity River and a new steel through plate girder bridge spanning the river. During project development LTRA coordinated with TRE, City of Fort Worth, TxDOT, COE and the adjacent designer of 35W corridor. LTRA also captured Mobile LiDAR data from a High Rail Vehicle and produced a topographic feature on the existing trestle bridge and its super structure to support the bridge rehabilitation. Adjacent topographic features were extracted from the LiDAR cloud data to show a complete 3D model of the existing bridge and the surrounding area of the Trinity River bottom.
