Located in the heart of San Antonio, the $10.5M rehabilitation of SL 368 (Broadway Avenue) restored a critical urban corridor while preserving its historical character and minimizing disruption to the community. LTRA led construction engineering inspection (CEI) services for TxDOT, overseeing upgrades that included new sidewalks, ADA-compliant ramps, curbs, drainage structures, driveways, and traffic signal improvements. With constant traffic and proximity to local businesses and historic buildings, maintaining safe work zones and accessibility was a top priority. Our team coordinated closely with stakeholders such as VIA Metropolitan Transit and the City of San Antonio to adjust to on-the-ground conditions and avoid utility conflicts, ensuring the project moved forward efficiently and with care. Lampasas, Texas

Construction Engineering and Inspection

In Lampasas, LTRA led CEI services for a $25M+ roadway widening project designed to improve traffic flow and safety along a 1.7-mile stretch of US 281. The project expanded the existing 4-lane undivided highway into a 4-lane divided roadway with a flush median, enhancing mobility for the growing community. Our team managed the construction of HMAC pavement, ADA-compliant ramps, sidewalks, curbs, driveways, drainage structures, ITS installations, and traffic signals. To reduce disruption, LTRA coordinated closely with the City of Lampasas, local businesses, and Lampasas High School, adapting construction schedules around peak traffic hours. This proactive approach ensured safe access throughout the corridor while overcoming variable site conditions. The improvements now support a safer, more accessible roadway for both daily drivers and commercial traffic.

US 175 SM Wright Freeway Reconstruction Project

The $80M+ reconstruction of US 175 transformed a 4-lane freeway into a 6-lane urban boulevard in southern Dallas County, marking a major investment in regional mobility and safety. LTRA led construction engineering inspection (CEI) services for this milestone-driven A+B project, providing oversight that kept the schedule on track and the work zone safe. Our team resolved complex utility conflicts by collaborating directly with franchise utility providers, and we worked alongside the contractor to rephase parts of the project to accelerate construction and improve traffic safety. Clear communication with adjacent property owners was critical throughout, as we managed coordination around traffic shifts and detours. The result is a more connected, safer corridor that better serves the needs of southern Dallas communities.

IH 35E Reconstruction Project

Waxahachie, Texas

Construction Engineering and Inspection

Spanning 8 miles through Waxahachie, the IH 35E Reconstruction Project was a vital effort to modernize one of the region’s most heavily traveled corridors. As part of the $126M interstate widening initiative led by TxDOT’s Dallas District, the project added six new freeway lanes to enhance traffic flow, safety, and regional mobility. LTRA played a central role in providing construction engineering inspection (CEI) services, including contractor coordination, concrete field testing, and daily inspections to ensure safe and high-quality delivery. Facing challenges such as utility conflicts and multi-stakeholder coordination with the City of Waxahachie and nearby businesses, our team helped keep the project on schedule by proposing smart, field-ready solutions. The result is a safer, wider, and more efficient highway that improves travel for thousands of drivers each day.
