IH 10 – $450M Major Interstate Reconstruction

San Antonio, Texas
The $450M+ IH 10 Major Interstate Reconstruction project represents a significant investment in mobility and safety for one of San Antonio’s most important transportation corridors. The project is expanding IH 10 from a four-lane rural highway to a six-lane freeway with continuous two-lane frontage roads, providing additional capacity to meet growing traffic demands. LTRA led the final highway design for three separate PS&E packages as the prime provider, supporting TxDOT’s goal of advancing the project on an accelerated schedule. The design incorporated solutions to reduce utility conflicts and streamline relocations. LTRA also addressed hydraulic considerations related to the corridor’s flat terrain and multiple stream crossings. To further support project delivery, the design minimized right-of-way impacts and optimized the project footprint. LTRA’s work is contributing to the efficient advancement of this key interstate improvement for the San Antonio region.
