DART Cotton Belt Silver Line

Dallas County, Texas
LTRA was part of the design-build team responsible for providing supplemental surveying services, utility design, SUE, and civil design for the 26-mile commuter rail project from DFW Airport to Plano. LTRA was responsible for the civil and drainage design of 11 miles of Segment 3 of the project from the Dallas North Tollway in Dallas to Shiloh Road in Plano. Project scope included civil design packages at 28 rail crossing locations in the Cities of Dallas, Richardson and Plano. Responsibilities also included laying out track panels and coordinating with system elements for gate locations and sidewalk escape paths. Drainage design included preparing hydrology and hydraulics for the 11-mile corridor and preparing Hydraulic Technical Memos for 5 FEMA Zone AE stream crossings. LTRA also developed relocation and accommodation plans for 43 water lines and 22 wastewater lines spanning seven cities, Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs), and Special Utility Districts (SUDs). LTRA coordinated closely with each city and utility owner to ensure compliance with specific design criteria and adjusted designs as needed based on their feedback. LTRA supported the successful delivery of this significant regional transit project.
