Love Field Taxiway B Phase II

The US 380 Bypass is a $2B freeway project that will improve east-west mobility and provide additional capacity through Collin County, one of the fastest-growing areas in North Texas. The project extends from the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco to east of McKinney and requires significant right-of-way acquisition to support construction of the new alignment. LTRA served as a key survey team member supporting TxDOT’s right-of-way mapping and acquisition efforts. Our team established 20 primary survey control monuments along the entire project alignment and prepared 45 signed and sealed parcel plats and legal descriptions. To help TxDOT meet aggressive acquisition goals, LTRA also completed an additional 31 parcels beyond the original assignment. The project required navigating tight schedules, resolving right-of-entry issues, and coordinating field work across an active and rapidly changing corridor. Using terrestrial and mobile LiDAR technologies, LTRA delivered accurate, high-quality survey data that supported the advancement of this important regional transportation project.

LTRA served as the prime provider for TxDOT’s Statewide Bridge Clearance Inventory Surveys, delivering critical data to support the safety and planning of the state’s roadway network. The project involved surveying more than 5,400 bridges across 13 TxDOT districts and 123 counties in North Texas, collecting accurate horizontal and vertical clearance measurements for every bridge opening. LTRA utilized the Leica Pegasus mobile mapping system to perform Mobile LiDAR scans of each structure, with point cloud data processed using MicroStation and TopoDOT software. The final deliverable included a comprehensive GIS database covering over 13,000 openings, each with approximately 60 recorded attributes. Our team also managed data collection planning, coordinated work across multiple regions, and implemented rigorous QA/QC processes to ensure data accuracy. LTRA’s ability to manage large-scale survey projects and deliver high-quality geospatial data contributed directly to TxDOT’s statewide bridge inventory and planning efforts.

DFW Airport’s International Parkway was the focus of a major infrastructure improvement program to modernize terminal access and enhance roadway safety. As part of this effort, LTRA provided critical design and topographic survey services to support the reconstruction of the main roadway and terminal ramps. LTRA’s survey team utilized advanced terrestrial and mobile LiDAR technologies to capture precise data quickly and efficiently, allowing work to progress without disrupting traffic flow to the airport terminals. We worked closely with the design team to prioritize key deliverables on an accelerated schedule and supported utility and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) efforts throughout the project. The survey data provided by LTRA contributed to the safe and efficient delivery of this important airport corridor improvement.

The DART Silver Line is a $2B+ light rail project that will connect DFW Airport to Plano, improving regional mobility and providing new transit options across North Texas. LTRA provided critical design and topographic survey services to support this major transportation investment. Our survey team confirmed existing project control, gathered SUE data, and conducted detailed design surveys at intersection crossings, stream crossings, and proposed station locations. With an aggressive project schedule, LTRA deployed multiple field crews and office teams and leveraged advanced technologies including terrestrial and mobile LiDAR to accelerate data collection and delivery. Close coordination with the design team allowed us to prioritize key deliverables and maintain project momentum. Our work provided the high-accuracy data needed to support the safe and efficient design of this important regional rail corridor.
