The North Houston Highway Improvement Project is a major infrastructure program aimed at improving mobility, safety, and connectivity along key sections of I-45, I-10, and US 59/I-69 in central Houston. LTRA provided Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services throughout multiple project segments, supporting the successful design and construction of this complex highway corridor. Our team conducted extensive utility investigations and mapping to help mitigate risk, minimize delays, and ensure safe delivery of the project. The effort required a comprehensive SUE approach that included 3D utility scanning, in-depth records research, and careful coordination with stakeholders. Throughout the project, LTRA worked to maintain existing traffic flow and public access while meeting the aggressive project schedule. Our contributions helped support the delivery of this high-profile transportation improvement for the region.

LTRA played a critical role in the $200M+ roadway improvement project at DFW Airport, supporting the construction of new frontage roads connecting the North Express Parking area to Terminal E. As a key member of the project team, LTRA provided expedited Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations and utility coordination to support the fast-paced design-build delivery. Given the complex underground environment of the airport, our team conducted extensive 3D utility scanning, performed additional records research to verify service statuses, and maintained active traffic flow during the investigations. By delivering accurate utility data on an aggressive schedule, LTRA helped keep this vital infrastructure upgrade on track and ultimately improving access to one of the nation’s busiest airports.
