Schematics

SH 114 – $1.6B Major Freeway

Gateway to DFW Airport, Texas
LTRA was chosen by the TxDOT Dallas District to lead the schematic design, environmental permitting, and public involvement for this critical freeway link between Dallas and DFW Airport. Project scope included preliminary design for the reconstruction and expansion of 7 miles of SH 114 from International Parkway to Riverside Drive with a 6 to 8 lane freeway section with one dedicated managed lane in each direction. LTRA developed complex geometrics for a new 5-level direct connector interchange between SH 114 and the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT). The highly urbanized corridor and existing dense commercial development added to project complexity. The project corridor spanned multiple municipalities and required coordination with Irving, Las Colinas, DART, DFW Airport and multiple major stakeholders and corporations.
